iPad 5 and Mini 2 revelations continue

#

There’s a lot of interest in the upcoming iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 at the moment, spurred on by news of an Apple event on Tuesday. However, we expect this event to pertain to the iPhone 5S, 5C and iOS 7 and don’t anticipate the next iPads to be introduced just yet. While we wait though, we have more iPad 5 and Mini 2 revelations on video.

We’ve seen more leaks about the fifth-generation iPad and second-generation iPad mini than we can count, including leaked parts, unconfirmed specs and more. Many of the leaks have concerned the designs of the next iPads and recently we showed a video that purported to be the rear shell and front panel of the iPad 5, in essence the iPad 5 without the internals.

This seemed to fit with all of the leaks we’ve heard so far about slimmer bezels, a narrower and slimmer form factor, and styling based on the current iPad mini. We also recently showed some leaked images that were claimed to be the shell of the iPad mini 2. These showed styling similar to the original iPad mini, and again fitted with the rumors and leaks we’ve seen so far.

Now a new video has emerged that allegedly shows the shells of the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2. You can see the 11-minute YouTube video below this story and if these are the genuine articles then this gives a really good look at how they compare overall with the current iPads.

When detailing the iPad 5 the video takes a close look at details such as the ambient light sensor, home button, and how the black logo on the current iPad is replaced with a more silvery Apple logo on the iPad 5. It also shows the repositioning of the speakers for the next full-sized iPad, and as with the previous iPad 5 video we showed, it also has separate volume controls. Other changes are also pointed out such as the rounder corners and more.

The video proceeds with the iPad mini 2 that shows even slimmer bezels than on the new iPad 5 and then goes on to show just how similar the design of the tablets are. We cannot verify the authenticity of the casings shown on this video, but have no reason to think they are not the real deal.

They tie in with everything we’ve heard so far and we feel this video gives an excellent look at exactly how the new versions compare to the current iPads. Check out the video below for yourself to see all the details for yourself. We’ll be bringing more news and leaks about the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2, and as we get closer to the launch we’ll see more information arriving.

Are you a potential customer for the iPad 5 or iPad mini 2? If we consider that the video shows the genuine articles, are you pleased with what you see? Let us know by sending your comments.

I will probably wait for concrete info to be released. I’m not concerned about looks but if the Mini is better resolution and the price is no more than the existing mini then I’ll be getting one.

I’m definitely going for the iPad. I was an early adopter with the very first iPad and I’ve been waiting for a really good reason to upgrade it. This is it for me! Love the new design to match the mini.
