Microsoft Surface 2 launch date announced

#

Like any mobile tech product that is released in the months that follow rumours emerge about new versions becoming available and the specs they may feature, and now the Microsoft Surface 2 launch date has been announced.

The existing Microsoft Surface tablet PCs have got a mixed reception from reviewers and owners alike, with sales of the two devices not exactly breaking any records. Now though the Microsoft Surface 2 release got closer to reality as the company began sending out invites to an event on September 23rd.

Microsoft’s press event is taking place in New York City and kicks off at 1030am local time, and could see replacements for the Microsoft Surface Pro along with the not so popular Surface RT that uses a scaled down version of Windows 8.

There have been rumours that the new hardware will using new more powerful processors along with a massive 8GB of RAM, and would of course run Windows 8.1. There has also been talk of Full HD displays with a design similar to the existing models.

The company will be hoping the new devices prove to be more successful than the ill fated Microsoft Surface RT, with the device causing the company to make a loss due to unsold stock.

Will you be considering the new line of Microsoft tablets?
