HTC One Android 4.3 update on schedule, almost here
While Google is expected to unveil a new version of its operating system next month ahead of its release to Nexus devices, there are still a huge number of flagship devices still waiting to get treated to the current latest version of the OS. It now seems that the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is still on schedule with its arrival almost here.
Earlier this month we heard that the Android 4.3 update will be released to owners of the HTC One by the end of September, and it will reach US owners first shortly before other regions get treated to the new software.
Now Canadian carrier TELUS has posted an update schedule for upcoming firmware updates and has listed the HTC One as late September to receive Android 4.3. The update is currently being tested and considering that today is September 21st the arrival of Android 4.3 could be any day now.
The update is expected to bring with it HTC Sense 5.0 for US owners of the HTC One while international owners are tipped to receive Sense 5.5 with their Android 4.3 update. HTC’s American president has also suggested that the update will be arriving for US customers by the end of September as well, so if it did arrive late there would be some embarrassment.
This update is also thought to bring a bug fix for the handsets camera that has been affecting a number of users, which has even affected owners who got their handset changed because of the issue.

The U.S HTC ONE version remaining on Sense 5.0 and not moving to version 5.5 won’t have anything to do with the carriers would it?
5.5 isn’t suppose to be pushed out to any One until the One Max is released.

Really? In what way will it make your phone any better? It’s all tweak stuff. Sure it’ll be better than before but it’s hardly worth salivating over (unless you’re plagued by a specific bug). I’ve given up worrying about updates. They very rarely make a jot of difference to it’s actual usage.

Well it’s all about the anticipation and then the ‘meh’ feeling when the update finally arrives. These days it’s pretty much the same as before with a handful of tiny modifications that make very little difference to the handset’s usage. I’ve been through 5 smartphones now and I would be as crazy as everyone else about the next update for the first few but those were the days when performance upgrades were a necessity, where the software was pretty basic and the upgrades actually made a difference in usage.
Android has matured now. Updates these days for the user at least are mostly cosmetic and the difference between Android 4.x and 4.x+1 is pretty much swallowed whole by differences of HTC Sense 5.0.
Of course I’m still keeping an eye on when the updates are and I’ll probably upgrade as soon as they’re available but I no longer get excited or wait impatiently for them (unless someone claims their next update will magically double my battery life). Then I’ll be gagging at the bit.
Hate the camera
The camera works great for me. It’s a phone. Sure, the daytime shots could be better but where I usually take photos on a phone which is indoors and/or late at night the camera is outstanding. I’ve got a DSLR if I want to take proper photos and a point and shoot if I think there’s going to be something nice to photograph but can’t be bothered with the bulk/worry of the DSLR.
We might see 4.3 for the One but I don’t think we will ever get 4.4 because hTc doesn’t seem to care about a device ince its a year old

Dude i own a One X and the 4.2.2 is the second update I will be recieving after buying my phone and rumour has it that this (4.2) will be our last update… So looking at it this should be your last (as it is a second update after unboxing)
wrong. i own One X since it was released. it came out with 4.0.3 preinstalled. first update was 4.0.4. second update was 4.1.1. and finally third update is 4.2.2.
4.0.4 was only a minor update not that much to do in the changes only small tweaks here we are looking at 3 major updates and here they are looking at 4.3 to 4.4 not 4.3.1 to 4.3.2 get that? (or whatever)

Why do they keep saying we will get sense 5 when that’s what we already have
Because some people think we’re getting 5.5 and they want to be clear that that isn’t happening yet.
