iPhone 5S vs Nokia Lumia 1020 ruffles feathers
With the amount of choice that is available to consumers in the smartphone world there can be times that some users have difficulty deciding which handset to purchase. Today we are looking at the iPhone 5S vs. Nokia Lumia 1020, but a comparison such as this will ruffle the feathers of some users.
There will be some of you that will consider this an unfair comparison to make considering that one handset has a much larger display, but it’s always nice to see how certain handsets stack up against each other specs wise.
Display
The Nokia obviously has the larger or the two handsets displays at 4.5-inches at a resolution of 768 x 1280 with a pixel density of 332ppi, while the iPhone 5S comes in at 4-inches with a resolution of 640 x 1136 and 326ppi.
Processor
The new iPhone 5S has the A7 64-bit processor which is a dual core unit clocked at 1.3GHz with a PowerVR G6430 quad core GPU, which compares to the Lumia 1020 that features a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running at 1.5GHz with an Adreno 225 GPU.
Storage & RAM
Apple offers the iPhone 5S in either 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of non-expandable storage with 1GB of RAM, with the Nokia coming with 32GB of non-expandable storage with 2GB of RAM.
Cameras
The Nokia has a massive 41-meagpixel rear facing shooter that is paired with a LED and Xenon flashes that is capable of Full HD video capture at 30fps, while around the front is a 1.2-meagpixel unit.
Measurements & Weight
The iPhone 5S measures 123.8 mm x 58.6mm x 7.6 mm weighing 112grams while the Nokia comes in at 130.4mm x 71.4mm x 10.4 mm weighing 158grams.
Software
Obviously the iPhone 5S comes running the latest iOS 7 operating system while the Nokia Lumia 1020 is on the latest version of Windows Phone 8.

I’m a Lumia 925 user and I think its a bit unfair to not even mention the specs of the iphone camera! The 1020 looks amazing, but i really think the Lumia 925 is a better comparison with the iphone…
The 925 is not a better comparison. There’s no reason for you to think this.
Both high end offerings, both sport a high end smartphone camera without getting into 20mp territory., both have a slick fast UI..certainly the iphone 5s, Lumia 925, and also HTC One, Galaxy S4 are all comparable?
You still haven’t explained why you think that the 925 is a better representation than the 1020. You listed all flagship devices, except for the Lumia 925.
The most appropriate comparisons are between the flagship models of the company.
In regards to this article, the iPhone 5s is making a big deal about its camera. It’s only fair to compare the best to the best offerings, rather than the best to the second best offerings.
The 925 is easily compared to the iphone5s. The unit itself is a better phone than the iphone5s. There’s nothing new with the iphone5s but a faster processor and new software… The camera on the 925 has pureview technology and not only that has zeiss lens. It has low light photography capabilities.. The iphone 5s has a flash that makes you look like a zombie with red eyes. Its okay your an iphone lover. Everyone to their own. I think people who prefer w8 are those seeking the innovative and are individualists, who don’t want to be sheep. 🙂 Its easily a comparison to the iphon5s.

You have a point, but then do you place the iphone and 1020 against the Galaxy S4 or against the supercam variant of the S4? I guess it depends if you’re looking to show which ia the “best” device or which is the best choice for someone looking for a slim fashion phone.
They would definitely go against the non-zoom S4, since reviews show that S4 zoom is (essentially) an S4 mini attached to a camera. The S4 mini is a mid-range phone, while the others mentioned are the high-end phones (and the flagships). So if you’re comparing high-end smartphones, the mid-range S4 zoom really can’t be fairly compared as it isn’t a high-end smartphone.
Of course if you’re comparing just the camera, then why not. Same for the 925.
