LG G2 vs Apple iPhone 5S, solid performers

#

The LG G2 and iPhone 5S are both recently released smartphones that have received a lot of praise. If you’re about to buy a new smartphone you may be considering one of these, as despite their differences they both have some notable inclusions. Today we’re looking at the LG G2 vs. Apple iPhone 5S.

These handsets are both hitting regions worldwide and are definitely two of the top phones available right now. We’ve written plenty of articles on the LG G2 and iPhone 5S, and both have a great deal to offer potential buyers.

The LG G2 runs the Android operating system while the iPhone 5S runs iOS. If you’re definitely set on using the Android platform or iOS platform then your decision between these two may be already made. Similarly the LG G2 has a 5.2-inch display, much larger than the 4-inch screen of the iPhone 5S, so some may decide by the display size alone.

However, there will be some people who are open-minded about using either platform or screen size, and that’s where a comparison review comes in handy. The 10-minute YouTube video that you can see below this story offers a really good look at both devices, and it may help you make up your mind between the two.

The video begins with pointing out that the hardware is very different and shows the design of both handsets closely. It goes on to discuss the specs of each phone and then moves on to the operating systems.

You’ll get a look at the new iOS 7 featured on the iPhone 5S and it’s felt that many users will happily use this. While the LG G2 benefits from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, there’s criticism for the custom skin, with the UI being described as not LG’s best work.

The reviewer says that he actually loves both devices on a day-to-day basis and both offer great performance. Battery life is said to be exceptional for the LG G2, giving it an edge in this respect and then the video goes on to look at the camera capabilities of both phones.

We won’t spoil the conclusion of the video for you, but suffice to say that these are described as “solid performers.” Check out the video below where you can see the full review. We’d like to hear your comments about the LG G2 vs. iPhone 5S.

If you are deciding between these two smartphones, has your choice been made by the display sizes or operating systems? Maybe there are other factors that have helped you make up your mind? Which device would you ultimately choose, the LG G2 or iPhone 5S?

Thanks for the great review! Hands down the best review I’ve found comparing these two phones. I think I will be choosing to stick with Apple and the 5s over switching to LG. I always try to find a substitute for my iphone and then reluctantly stay the course that Apple has intended. What can I say…I don’t find the iphones exciting at all but they have always met my needs and work really well. Somebody with a LG G2 sound off and change my mind before its too late!

I traded in my Iphone 5, and went with the LG G2 because of the features, customization, screen size, and a true HD screen. It’s ridiculous how fast this phone is and how responsive it is. Don’t take my word for it go play with both phones at Best Buy. You will be pleasantly surprised how much better the G2 is over the 5s. I am tired of the same old thing and until Apple radically changes the Iphone I won’t be buying another one.

I gave my htc one to my son and jumped all over the awesome LG G2.I have no problem with the plastic back,Even with my metal backed htc one,It was immediatly covered with a protector,as was the screen. The ui to me isnt that much different than any other android phone.Lg did a great job with settings to make it very useable with one hand.Examples:dialer can be set so that its closer to left or right thumb. The keyboard is great, not having to switch back and forth to type letters or numbers,As they are placed in a row just above keyboard.I also like that back, home and setting keys can be rearranged, plus a forth can be added to pull down top menu without having to change how you hold it or stretch to reach pulldown menu.I could go on and on about just how good this phone is,so i’ll add one more thing.Music lovers rejoice its able to play 24bit/172khz playback. If you’re wondering what that means,Its better than Cd quality. And for apple, they’re a great tasting, healty snack.

if you’re embedded in the apple infrastructure (mac, ipad, you already have the 4s, tons of purchases on itunes, many apps downloaded/bought) you should go with the iPhone. You can also trade in your 4s for a considerable sum at best buy or radioshack (i forgot) and get a new 5s for a very discounted price.

Otherwise, if you’re willing to make the switch to android, LG G2 is superior in many ways, and I would go for this if you didn’t feel an obligation/lose a lot of money’s worth of apps and movies and stuff

Thank you for the feedback. I do own an iPad, however, I don’t have TOO many apps (all the ones I have are free), and I don’t really sync much unless it’s music, which I rarely do. I’ve been a big fan of Apple products, but I’ve read reviews where the G2 is better than the 5s in about 3 different areas… battery life, camera, and overall looks.

That’s awesome! That leaves you with the option to choose ;D

Honestly, just make sure that should you choose to switch, you do all your research on what apps are and aren’t available on android that you have on the iPad, how you’re going to transfer data (if you need to), what app equivalents you need to download, and just familiarize yourself and make sure you’re comfortable with the android process before you switch over.

As someone who has used both, I would definitely say that apple is easier to use, so make sure you’re comfortable with the transition before you make it!

While battery, camera, and screen are better (overall looks debatable, though I agree with you!), make sure that you need it before you get it!

I’m also thinking about these two phones, and while the 5.2” screen is amazing, I know I would be just fine with the 4 inch screen the 5s has. Also, if you’re comfortable with the battery life you already have, anything extra is honestly just a waste. If you only need it to last 8 hours a day, whether it lasts 10 or 19 is irrelevant; both cover 8 hours a day.

Whatever your decision ends up being, just make sure that you get what you need!

Hope I helped and gave some things to think about 🙂

The LG is in a league of its own. It smokes the iphone. Once the great one. Now an over-rated antique that needs replacing. It shouldn’t even be compared to anything.
