Sprint Galaxy S4 gets active with Android 4.3 update

The international version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 begun receiving the latest version of the Jelly Bean operating system almost two weeks ago now, but now it’s the turn of the Sprint version of the Galaxy S4 as it gets active with the Android 4.3 update.

As was predicted in the leaked Galaxy update schedule the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 begun receiving the Android 4.3 update yesterday and now as expected the Sprint version is beginning to arrive for some users of the handset.

The update brings with it all the extras that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean offers with the firmware having the L720VPUAMJA build number, and users will now get support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Other features include the Samsung KNOX security suite plus a number of tweaks and performance enhancements to the Samsung TouchWiz Android overlay.

The file size is pretty big measuring in at 537MB so it is advisable that you download the new software via a stable Wi-Fi connection. Other changes include OpenGL 3.0 support, new Samsung keyboard, new Reading mode, new camera app, improved display colour reproduction, new Samsung browser, ANT+ support, minor UI tweaks, and Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded.

If you have yet to receive the update go to the main settings option on the handset before selecting About device > Software update.
