#

It is now that time of year again where many of us will be looking for a bargain for a gift for someone special or even for ourselves, and now we have news of an iPad 2 price drop with US retailer Best Buy.

We are now in that busy time of year where many retailers make their biggest profits as we speed closer to Christmas, and while Apple may have just released the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina those that want something a little cheaper may be interested that Best Buy are offering the iPad 2 with a $100 discount.

The 16GB Wi-Fi only version can be yours in either black or white for only $299, and while it may be two years old now it is basically the iPad mini but with a larger display. To recap the iPad 2 specs feature a 9.7-inch LED backlit IPS LCD touchscreen display at a resolution of 1024 x 768 and 132ppi pixel density.

Under the hood is a dual core 1GHz Cortex A9 processor coupled with a PowerVR SGX 543MP2 GPU and 512MB of RAM. There is also a 0.7-megapixel rear camera along with a VGA front facing unit for self portraits and video conferencing, and connectivity is provided via 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and is powered by a 25 watt hour power pack that is promised to provide up to 10 hours of use.
