HTC One, DROID DNA Android 4.4 update schedule confirmed

#

It seems that HTC has been pretty reliable recently getting some of its flagship hardware updated to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware, although not everyone has received it yet but now the HTC One, HTC DROID DNA Android 4.4 KitKat update schedule has been confirmed by the company.

Many owners of the HTC One have already been treated to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update and are already looking forward to seeing Android 4.4 KitKat arriving next on their handset. The company did stress pretty soon after the software was originally released by Google that it would update the handset in certain regions by the end of January, and this was recently confirmed for the UK.

Now though the company has taken to its official Twitter account to give some information for those that own the HTC One and HTC DROID DNA on Verizon. We have already heard that the Android 4.3 Verizon HTC One update was being delayed but the company has assured customers that it will be arriving next month.

The company confirmed that the process of delivering the Android 4.3 update to the Verizon HTC One will be a two step process with the first one coming this week followed by the operating system in December, but the company has gone further by saying that the end of January release for the HTC One 4.4 KitKat update won’t be affected by the delay of Android 4.3.

Owners of the HTC DROID DNA have also been promised the Android 4.4 KitKat update by the end of the first quarter next year, which while not giving a more precise date at least there is some information.

At least HTC owners are not going through the issues that have been affecting Samsung with both the Galaxy S3 and S4 Android 4.3 updates now stopped.
