Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update still dragging heels

#

During the later part of last year Samsung pushed out some new firmware for a number of handsets that quickly caused some serious issues for owners, and while some of these have now been ironed out and updates resumed the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update is still dragging its heels for some owners of the device.

Many regions have now seen the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update arriving for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which came after the software had some serious issues for other Galaxy devices that included the S3.

This has now been fixed with downloads commencing before Christmas but there are still owners of the Galaxy Note 2 waiting for the new firmware to arrive. Australian carrier Telstra are pretty good in keeping their customers informed about upcoming new firmware releases, but has yet to start the process of updating the Note 2 with Android 4.3.

The carrier has now listed the update as to be confirmed with no actual release date in sight, and French carrier SFR have stated that it has hit problems with the operating system during testing, but many owners would rather wait to get a stable version of the OS instead of one riddled with bugs.

Trouble is the handset has been tipped like the Galaxy S3 to get updated to Android 4.4 KitKat at some point, which will again repeat the long drawn out process all over again.

This compares to HTC that is already started getting KitKat out to the HTC One and will speed the process up in the coming weeks, and even the Motorola G has been treated to Android 4.4 but many will point to Google’s involvement as the cause of this.

Have you got a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 still waiting for Android 4.3?

Thank you! I did as suggested and there was an update, but it gave me 4.1.2 and not 4.3.
After the Note 2 rebooted itself, it gave the message that the upgrade could not be installed at this time. Not sure why. …. but I’ll keep checking to see what happened.

Got mine before New Years Day. If for nothing else the ability to clean up my internal memory and truly use a 64 gig memory card is worth it. I haven’t had any problems I could tell.

      Hi
I have GN2 and 4.3 update. I like it so far runs smoother than before. But seems to have a couple of issues: battery time is about half of what it was before upgrade…freezes at start up frequently…wi fi is a bit weird as well. Other than that I love my note 2.

4.3 for the Note 2 was released by South African carriers during December but has been withdrawn again as it was buggy with Wi-Fi, battery and font issues

I updated my note 2 os to 4.3 and it has ruined it! My text msg display has massive characters (which I can’t change!!!) and the overall general display colour has been hyped up and I can’t change that either.
Why can’t they just push out the old os again so at least we can go back to our original settings until they get it all sorted out? Or would that just be too easy!
I wish I had not updated, this is a really poor show from Samsung I thought they were better than this.

4.3 version really socks. It drain my battery even in save mode and it’s not normal when I charge my battery for 8 hours. Still not full. Please update to the new version or let us update back to 4.1.2!

On AT&T in the USA: I had not received the 4.3 update for Galaxy Note II, but after reading this article, I did a manual Software Update/Search and it found it. 695 MB, took about 45 minutes to download and install. Works fine, so far.

I have updated to 4.3 on my note 2 and i have always used the 3×3 favourite contacts widget. And after update i re entered all 9 favourite contacts but the middle left contact keeps disappearing. When i put it back it goes again after 10 mins. Also on the accasional day the widget will blur and inlarge itself which leaves me barely able to make anything out. This is my only problem with 4.3. Im not sure if its the software or a virus on my phone maybe. Any ideas please?

I updated my Note 2 last week and since then I have regretted!! My phone is slower, it freezes and the contacts don’t download easily, you have to keep switching on and off. My battery life has also reduced all of a sudden!! Please fix this problem

And now, here we are at 5.1 and the nonsense still continues, even for the Moto G now that Lenovo is driving. They just announced the second gen of Moto G LTE with 5.1 already installed and 5.1 just came out this month? It doesn’t take a being man to see what manufacturers are up to, but it does take a duped crowd of consumers to allow them to continue playing the disappointment game with you. Good luck with that new phone purchase you’ll need to get an update. See by a in 6-7 months when the whole joke repeats itself. Start saving that cash now!
