The Apple iPad air released in the later part of last year and Samsung recently introduced its new Galaxy Pro lineup of tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is due to release this quarter and is also likely to be a popular device. Processors
The iPad Air has a 1.4GHz Apple A7 64-bit dual-core CPU with PowerVR G6430 graphics. The Galaxy Tab Pro WiFi version has a 1.9GHz Exynos 5 octa-core processor with Mali T-628 MP6 GPU while the LTE version has a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics.
Display
You’ll find a 9.7-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 2048 x 1536 ppi and 264 ppi on the iPad Air. The Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has a 10.1-inch Super Clear LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 299 ppi.
RAM and Storage
The iPad Air has 1GB of RAM and 16, 32, 64 or 128GB internal storage models (non-expandable). The Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has 2GB of RAM and either 16 or 32GB of internal storage (expandable to 64GB via microSD).
Camera Set-up
A 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 1080p video capture features for the iPad Air, along with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 1080p video recoding capability along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Battery
The iPad Air has an 8820 mAh battery while the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has an 8220 mAh battery.
Connectivity options
You’ll get Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 with the iPad Air. The Galaxy Tab Pro has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with the addition of ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB 2.0.
Operating System
The iPad Air runs iOS 7.0.4 while the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is an Android tablet running 4.4 KitKat skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
As a straightforward specs comparison this should give you an idea of how these tablets compare, although of course it doesn’t take into account every single feature or the differences offered by the software experiences.

This is how I would break it down. 1. (The cpu) on paper the samsung device looks better but knowing what apple gets performance wise out of their little dual core chips ipad gets the edge. Plus it is a 64 bit chip. As of now there aren’t any apps that make use of this, but as future proofing goes this is a plus, if its not obsolete by the time 64 bit applications become mainstream. 2. (The gpu) As of now Im not exactly sure wich is better. But I am sure that they are both going to handle anything thrown at them for a long time to come. 3. (Display) Samsungs tab wins this round with higher resolution and pixel density its a no brainer. 4. (Ram) Even though the Ipad has half the ram it wins this one. IOS 7 ‘s light architecture and lackof good multitasking combined with android’s heavier architecture great multitasking ability and Samsungs heavy touchwiz ui. 2 gigs just doesn’t cut it. Unless this article is wrong. (I was under the impression that it was going to be 3 gigs.) Which would make it a tie. 5. (Storage) I need a lot. I’m not willing to pay an exorbitant amount for the 128gb version of anything especially when 2 64gb sd cards and an sd slot will get me that plus the internal memory for a whole lot less. Tab Pro definitely wins this round. 6. (Connectivity) They are both great. 7. (Camera) Who cares? You look like a moron taking pictures with a 10″ tablet! 8. (OS) Hands down the Tab Pro and 4.4 kitkat. I am a power user, enough said. To end things I have to say that spec wise the Tab pro wins because of kitkat and an sd slot. But I’m not going to buy either one of these! They are both overpriced and over hyped. I’m buying the ifive x3 (Decent performance, full hd 10.1″ screen, and its the thinnest tablet in the world now not the airpad), a case, bluetooth controller, some great headphones, and I still have money left to sart saving for my non apple non samsung phone! Ha Ha!
