Sony Xperia Z2 vs Samsung Galaxy S4 comparison
The mobile world has got just that little bit more crowded recently with the Mobile World Congress event bringing us even more handsets to look forward to in the coming weeks. We have today decided to look at the Sony Xperia Z2 vs. Samsung Galaxy S4 in a quick specification comparison.
While many are looking forward to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 we thought we would look at the Sony Xperia Z2 against the S4.
The Sony Xperia Z2 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive display at a Full HD resolution with 424ppi pixel density, which compares to the Galaxy S4 that has 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 441ppi.
Under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is either the 1.9GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 chip or the 1.6GHz Exynos Octa core processor depending on the region, while the Sony has the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz.
RAM & Storage
The Sony has 3GB of RAM along with 16GB of storage that can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card, which compares to the Galaxy S4 that has 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal storage that is also expandable up to a further 64GB with 2GB of RAM.
On the rear of the Galaxy S4 we have a 13-megapixel camera that is capable of 1080p video capture, while around the front is a 2-megapixel unit. The Sony has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera that is capable of 2160p video capture at 30fps, or 1080p at 60fps while on the front is a 2.2-megapixel shooter that is also capable of 1080p.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has recently been receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, while the Sony will come with the same OS when it is released.
Battery & Measurements
Sony has fitted a non-removable 3,200 mAh battery to the Xperia Z2 in a form factor measuring 146.8mm x 73.3mm x 8.2 mm, and weighing 163 grams. This compares to the Samsung that has a 2,600 mAh removable battery while measuring 136.6mm x 69.8mm x 7.9 mm at 130 grams.
