iPhone 6 release could finally see Samsung divorce

#

What seems like forever Apple and Samsung have battled it out in various courts around the world over some patent disputes, but despite this Apple still uses its fierce rival for the supply of some of its key components inside its smartphone. Now a new report is suggesting that the iPhone 6 release could finally see a divorce from Samsung.

Leading up to the release of the iPhone 5S there were claims that Apple would stop using Samsung for the manufacturer of its processors for its smartphones, but it soon became clear that the company still relied on its rival for the 64-bit Apple A7 chip.

Now another year on and we are now hearing that TSMC will be responsible for the A8 chipsets for the iPhone 6, and has reportedly already started production. Now it’s a pinch of salt time as the next iPhone is not expected to arrive before September, so you would have thought the device would still be in development.

TSMC has refused to comment on the rumour but the company saw its shares climb 2.33 percent following the report.

Do you think Apple will finally ditch Samsung?
