Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Android 4.4 update may land soon
There were some fears raised last month that certain Samsung flagship handsets that are still available to purchase would miss out on getting a new firmware update. Now the Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update hopes are raised further and may land soon.
We recently reported that Samsung really needs to update the likes of the Galaxy S3 to the Android KitKat firmware due to the ongoing problems with it, and came after we talked about the possibility of an official update still arriving despite its 1GB of RAM.
Now though a leaked document is seemingly suggesting that the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be treated to the update next month. The leaked document also hints that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Grand 2 Duos could also be seeing the update in either April or May.
You would have thought if accurate the firmware could be pushed out after the Galaxy S5 is released on April 11th, so this would please many owners of these handsets.

“despite its 1GB of RAM” I’m running kitkat on my s3 and it’s way smoother than on my s4 which is running stock 4.3

Yeah, I’m running KitKat via Cyanogenmod on my Galaxy SIII and what a difference. But Samsung has lost THIS consumer because I am tired of the crap software and long waits for the updates (and patches) to said crap software. Just the fact that Samsung’s TouchWiz bloater takes up one half of the SIII’s 2 GB RAM is yet another reason why the company has pushed me towards other manufacturers. I already know what I’ll be getting next. Good bye, Samsung.
Agreed. I have had a similar experience using Cyanogenmod. I just reverted to stock ROM and updated to 4.3 from Samsung…. what an utter disaster !
Im going to wait for another month , after which I will switch over to Cyanogenmod back again. and yes….. I will NEVER EVER buy a Samsung phone again however much I love my S3.
That is ridiculous. 4.3 Android 4.4 also got a full tank now PS3 Would this kit suit., I was so nervous and I do not buy other Samsung products
