Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Sony Xperia Z2 display showdown
The Sony Xperia Z2 was made official recently and is due to release over the next few weeks, although there have been reports of possible delays. One of the top-end smartphones that it will be in competition with is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. We have a video to share of a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs. Sony Xperia Z2 display showdown, and we’d be really interested in your opinions on this.
The Xperia Z2 sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 424 ppi. On the other hand the Galaxy Note 3 carries a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 386 ppi. So which screen looks the best?
The video that we’ve embedded for your deliberation below shows both phones alongside each other, focusing on the quality and clarity of the displays. The narration is not in English but it’s pretty clear to follow what’s happening and get a good idea of how the displays compare, with both set to 100% brightness. The Galaxy device is on the left with the Z2 on the right.

Get off the fence it’s clearly the z2
Lol at people saying Sony, colors are way too saturated, especially the reds. Even Hellen Keller could see that.
Even the guys in the video laugh at how over saturated the colors are in the video on the Sony. And they point out that the colors destroy details in the tea pot image. I have a note 3 but I prefer the colors on the HTC ONE SLCD devices and blacks on my Note AMOLED. But the Sony screen is horrible looking.
I don’t want to insult you but there are 4 modes for you on note 3 to control the display (saturation and colour gamut). LCD wil never catch amoled. Ever.
Gotta agree with redline06 colors are more vibrant on the Sony but that’s because there’s a lot of saturation going on. The note takes this one
Look at the bottmom left of the wasp picture on both phones. The sony is so oversaturated you cant make out the diagonal lines on whatever the wasp is standing on .., but on the note you can
Note 3’s screen looks much better and clearer.
Xperia Z2 is much better. Especially the chandeliers show more details and are not blown out. The Live LED gives the screen a wider color gamut and the vibrancy is because of the wide color reproduction. I read here that the guy even laugh, saw it even. I guess he couldn’t believe that his Note 3 was trumped out, like “omg, this kid has a much better screen now compared to my AMOLED, I couldn’t believe blah blah blah @§€¥€£€%!” Obviously, he owns the Note 3 with that red back cover while comparing the Z2 which is on the display table. Though the one who wrote this article doesn’t want to be bias and just leaves the verdict to the viewers, it seems like you really can’t take it away as the one who did the comparison video has it, owning that latest note series the Note 3.
Hmmm, I wonder if the Z2 has an option to lower the colors saturation (like screen mode in Samsung). I think all new devices have this option.
I am a Sony fun but I have to say colors on z2 are kind of saturated but I think it can be fixed in the white balance menu. Either way I will wait to see a full review with the final firmware.
come on guys ..you can clearly see that the Z2 has a better colours than the Note 3 . I have Note 3 and i can tell you, it is a superb phone ,but after I saw the Z2 at the MWC (Mobile World Congress), all what i can say that the Z2 is best phone so far wand defiantly will be my next phone

You can improve lcd as much as you want and can. Viewing angles will improve, sunlight viewability. But you will never get away from this.
