ZTE Grand S2 vs Galaxy Note 3, price battle

If you are a fan of the Android platform and want a phablet sized smartphone there is a growing choice becoming available, and today we are looking at the ZTE Grand S2 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note3 in a price and spec battle.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was released to the world late last year while the ZTE Grand S2 was announced in January at CES 2014, but has now been launched in China.

Display
The new ZTE has a 5.5-inch Full HD display providing 401ppi pixel density, which compares to the Note 3 that has a 5.7-inch Full HD screen with 386ppi.

Processor
Under the hood of the Galaxy Note 3 is either a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor or a 1.9GHz Exynos 5 Octa core processor, while the ZTE Grand S2 has the Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz.

RAM & Storage
The ZTE is seemingly coming in a Limited Edition and an Exclusive Edition with one having 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the other one has 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. The Galaxy Note 3 has 3GB of RAM with internal storage going up to 64GB with further expansion possible via microSD card.

Cameras
The Galaxy Note 3 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization and HDR, and also a 2-megapixel front facing camera, while the ZTE has a 13-megapixel rear facer paired with a 2-megapixel front shooter.

Battery
The ZTE comes with a 3,100 mAh battery which compares to the 3,200 mAh battery on the Note 3.

Price
The ZTE Grand S2 has been launched in China at 2,499 RMB for the exclusive model which is around £242/$402, while the other version is priced at 1,699 RMB which is about £164/$273 and availability coming this month in China and a global release is expected to be priced around the same level. The Note 3 can be had for around £400/$570 unlocked via Amazon.
