Vodafone expanding retail operations

#

The UK high street has changed dramatically over the last few years as many household names have disappeared, which has been the result of the credit crunch and the fact more people do their shopping online. Despite this Vodafone has revealed that it is expanding its retail operations.

Vodafone Group Plc has today confirmed that it plans to open another 150 retail phone shops across the United Kingdom over the next 12 months, which will create 1,400 jobs and mark a £100 million investment.

This expansion is part of the company’s plans to invest up to £1 billion over the next year, which will be used to expand its indoor and outdoor 2G, 3G, and 4G coverage. This will mean that the network will have 500 stores, and the first new shops will open in parts of London and further across the UK.
