Samsung popularity supposedly waning despite Galaxy S5 release

#

Tomorrow sees the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in 150 countries around the world, but despite this flagship handset becoming available it seems that the popularity of Samsung is supposedly waning among mobile users.

According to new research by VoucherCodes.co.uk from 1500 smartphone users only 24% of them that currently use either an Android or Windows Phone device would consider Samsung for their next handset, which is a 29% fall from previous research.

This compares to only 13% of iPhone users that would consider a Samsung smartphone next, which is 12% down on last year while 82% of iOS users are likely to stay with Apple in the immediate future.

This compares to 31% of Samsung owners who are considering switching to a different company this time around, which could be made up with many Galaxy S3 owners fed up with the problems that the Android 4.3 update is causing.

It seems that the HTC One M8 is turning heads of customers from Samsung with 13% saying they will upgrade to the HTC One range. Smartphone users feel that a quality camera along with faster processors and higher resolution displays are important, and many are now considering offerings from HTC, Nokia, and Sony for their next handset.

Good audio playback is also important and 14% of those questioned liked the aluminium bodies of the HTC One range and iPhone 5S. Samsung is still the most popular company among those aged 45 or above, but last year 45% of those asked said they were thinking of getting the Galaxy S4 compared to 16% for the S5.

What is your next phone going to be?
