Verizon prepaid 4G LTE availability from July 17 tipped

#

Customers of Verizon Wireless could be forgiven for wondering why it has taken so long for prepaid plans to get 4G LTE access. If you’re one of those customers you might be pleased to hear that Verizon prepaid 4G LTE availability from July 17 has been tipped.

This date has been given by unnamed sources rather than being official news from Verizon. We cannot verify the accuracy of this leak but nevertheless it looks promising that customers using prepaid devices won’t have to wait too much longer for 4G LTE.

According to the leak the price of 4G LTE on Big Red’s ALLSET prepaid plan will be $45 monthly. For that you’ll get unlimited texts, talk and 500MB of data. That amount of data may not be enough for many users but you’ll be able to use add-ons going up to 3GB of data for a cost of $20.

If you sign up for auto-pay you’ll also get another 500MB of data so it’s possible to get unlimited texts, voice and 4GB of data for $65 per month. This is likely to sound appealing to some customers, but we should make clear that at this point we don’t know if prepaid plans will get full 4G speeds or not.

The new 4G prepaid plan is said to be going live on the above date, when customers will be able to sign up via the Verizon website or by calling customer service. Of course once this happens we’ll see 4G-enabled handsets added to the prepaid roster, with one of these being the LG G2.

As well as this, some other devices, including the Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S5, will be available as certified pre-owned smartphones. Are you a Verizon pre-paid customer and glad to see that a 4G LTE plan is on the way? Send your comments to let us know.
