Micromax launches the Canvas HD Plus

#

Last week, we told you about the price of the Micromax Canvas A093 in India, and it appears that’s not the only new handset the company has on the market. The Micromax Canvas HD Plus has shown up at an online retailer in India for Rs 13,500.

Micromax is swinging for the fences with the Micromax Canvas HD Plus. It’s their first smartphone to use a hexa-core processor, so you’re getting a 1.5Ghz under the hood which pairs nicely with 1GB of RAM. As for the display, the handset sports a 5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280×720. It also runs KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box.

The internal storage is just as sparse as you would expect from a mid-range smartphone as you only have 8GB to work with. Micromax was nice enough to include a microSD slot so you will be able to bump it up to 32GB with a card. Rounding things out for the Canvas HD Plus is an 8MP rear camera w/flash, 2MP front-facing camera, and a 2000mAh battery. You’ll get to make use of the dual-SIM setup, and other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth.

Micromax may not be a name everyone is familiar with, but that is slowly changing thanks to devices like the Canvas Turbo and the A114 phablet. Oddly enough, the Canvas HD Plus hasn’t been ‘officially’ announced, but it’s up for sale at Infibeam in Black Gold or White Gold for Rs 13,500.
