Is the LG D635 the next Windows 8.1 smartphone from LG?

#

LG has put out several Android tablets and slabs, but the company has been absent from the Windows side of things. That could soon change with the LG D635, a new smartphone that’s rumored to run Windows 8.1.

Alan Mendelvich, founder of AdDuplex, took to Twitter to let folks know a new LG handset had shown up in the company’s database. According to Mendelvich, the smartphone is made by LG, and it will have a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720. No other specs were mentioned, but it will run Windows 8.1, and it should be a mid-ranger considering the 720p display.

If the LG D635 comes to market, it will be the first Windows-based LG handset since the company was cranking out Windows 7 devices like the Optimus 7. We fully expect the D635 to be geared towards the budget crowd, but LG could surprise us by dropping a Snapdragon 800 and 2GB of RAM into the smartphone.

At this time, there is absolutely no other information out there on the LG D635 aside from the tweet sent out earlier today. LG gained a lot of ground with their Android handsets this year due to the LG G3’s beefy specs, 2K display and the thinnest bezels on the planet. Even if they skimp on the specs of the D635, they can still snag a lot of sales with their style.
