iPhone 6 vs. Galaxy S5 in benchmark speed test

#

The Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship released earlier this year and one of its main rivals will be the newly released Apple iPhone 6. Some people choosing a new smartphone like to look at benchmark testing to see how different devices compare, and with this in mind we’re bringing you an iPhone 6 vs. Galaxy S5 benchmark speed test that also involves the larger iPhone 6 Plus.

For some people any choice between these smartphones may purely be decided by the operating systems, as the iPhones run iOS and the Galaxy S5 runs Android. Others may be open to either platform though, and benchmark results could come into play.

Below this article we’ve embedded a brief YouTube video of an iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. iPhone 6 Plus benchmark speed test. The GeekBench test shows the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 1GB of RAM with a 1.4GHz Apple A8 dual-core 64-bit processor. By comparison the Galaxy S5 model used has a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

The video shows the GeekBench 3 test being set-up on the handsets alongside each other and then cuts to 25 seconds later when both iPhones are showing results. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is completely benchmarked at around 49 seconds, taking longer because of its quad-core processor. The results are then discussed and there’s barely anything between the three handsets as far as multi-core scores are concerned, with the S5 on 2923, the iPhone 6 on 2927 and the 6 Plus on 2919.

The single-core scores are a different picture and it’s pointed out that this is because of the quad-core CPU on the S5. You can see the results for yourself when you check out the video below or image above and you might also like to look at a specs comparison of the iPhone 6 vs. Galaxy S5.
