Karbonn launches the Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra Windows 8.1 handset for Rs. 5,999

#

Karbonn unleashed a new handset on eBay yesterday with the Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra, and today they’ve dropped another budget smartphone with the Karbonn Titanium Wind W4. The two devices do share some similarities, but the OS is quite different.

The S5 Ultra is an Android-based handset whereas the Karbonn Titanium Wind W4 runs Windows 8.1. The prices are similar, but the devices themselves are quite different in terms of specs. The Karbonn Titanium Wind W4 will have a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 480 and a quad-core 1.2GHz processor coupled with 512MB of RAM will keep things moving. As for the storage space, you’re looking at 4GB of internal that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.

The Karbonn Titanium Wind W4 has a 5MP AF rear camera and a 0.3MP on the front to handle the selfies. Oddly enough, we didn’t see any mention of the battery size, but you will get Dual SIM support, 15GB of free OneDrive storage along with the usual extras like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It’s definitely not a device you’re going to get excited about, but it is very cheap.

Karbonn has listed the Karbonn Titanium Wind W4 on Amazon.in, and it’s priced at Rs. 5,999. That’s a bit cheaper than the Titanium S5 Ultra, and the obvious difference aside from the specs is the fact that it runs Windows 8.1. Honestly, the OS and price are the only things the Wind W4 has going for it as 512MB of RAM is only going to get you so far and even the Android One handsets are a better option for the price.

Do you think the Karbonn Titanium Wind W4 and its 512MB of RAM will flop or do you agree with the price and specs?
