Motorola Droid Turbo launch date set by countdown

#

We’ve been detailing news and leaks on a new Motorola Droid smartphone for Verizon for some weeks now. We know there are a lot of Droid fans eager for the official unveiling of the new handset, and now we have news of the Motorola Droid Turbo launch date set by a countdown teaser.

In our recent articles we’ve shown some leaked images of the phone as well as Droid Turbo specs and features that showed up in a manual. This is looking like a beast of a smartphone that may even tempt non-Verizon customers over to Big Red when it releases.

Some weeks ago we heard rumors that the Droid Turbo would be made official in October, and now that looks extremely likely. Verizon has its DROID DOES website up and running and it features a countdown that will tick down to 12:00 pm ET /9am PT on October 28. Underneath there’s a short tagline that reads, “Launch date set. All will be revealed.”

While it doesn’t specify the Droid Turbo, it doesn’t take much imagination to work out that this is what will be unveiled, especially as the silhouette pictured above the countdown ties in with the previous leaked images. Unconfirmed specs of the device include a 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440, 3GB of RAM, and a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash topped off with a sizeable 3900 mAh battery.

It’s easy to see why there’s such an interest in this phone, so check back with us to find out more when it launches. We’ll be waiting eagerly for October 28 to learn confirmed specs and hopefully a release date. Are you a potential buyer of the Motorola Droid Turbo on Verizon?

The Motorola Droid Turbo Android Smartphone is a great phone. It has almost everything that I could want in a smartphone including a fast processor, great display, great camera, active display, long battery life and Qi wireless charging.
