Two smartphones that have proven popular in India this year are the Samsung Galaxy Core 2 and the Motorola Moto E. They are both Android dual SIM smartphones that arrived in the summer and are similarly priced at the affordable end of the market. Processors
The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 (Core II) has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor but the chipset and graphics are unspecified. The Motorola Moto E Dual SIM has a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor and Adreno 302 graphics.

Display
The Galaxy Core 2 has a 4.5-inch display with resolution of 800 x 480 and 207 ppi. The Moto E has a 4.3-inch display with 960 x 540 resolution and 256 ppi.

RAM and Storage

Operating System
The Galaxy Core 2 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Moto E runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and has already been confirmed to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update at some point.

Dimensions and Weight
The Galaxy Core 2 measures 130.3mm x 68mm x 9.8mm and weighs 138g. The Moto E measures 124.8mm x 64.8mm x 12.3mm and weighs 142g.

Price
The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 has dropped in price since it was first launched and can now be found from around Rs. 8,000 while the Moto E Dual SIM is on sale for around Rs. 7,000.

Looking at the specs there are some swings and roundabouts. The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 has a quad-core processor, a larger display, a higher level of expandable storage, better camera arrangement, and a higher capacity battery that’s also removable. However, the Moto E Dual SIM has a display with higher resolution, more RAM, and runs a later version of Android with the Lollipop update on the way. It’s also slightly cheaper than the Samsung phone.

Ultimately your choice between these handsets may come down to preference of design and build quality, but both have enough on offer for this price sector of the market.
