The Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 announced with 5-inch Display and octa-core chip

#

December has just begun and Micromax is already on a roll. We’ve covered two new handsets from the company already this month, and we’re getting to know a third. Ready to say hello to the Micromax Canvas Nitro A311?

Micromax introduced the Canvas Xpress last week and earlier today we talked about the selfie-centric (and aptly named) Micromax Canvas Seflie. The Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 is similar to both of those handsets, and it looks to be a good one for selfie snappers in the market for a mid-range smartphone.

The Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 specs show a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720. The processor is listed as an octa-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz, and that’s backed up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Rounding things out for the Nitro A311 is a 13MP/5MP camera combo, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, an FM radio and microUSB port. It’s a dual-SIM 3G handset that sips its power from a 2,500mAh battery and will run Android KitKat 4.4.2.

When compared to the Canvas Selfie, the Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 has similar specs. It doesn’t have the 13MP front-facing cam, but the innards are the same and the display and battery is actually a bit larger. We don’t know the price on the Selfie, but the Canvas Nitro A311 price is expected to fall close to that of its predecessor the Nitro A310 which arrived for around Rs. 12,900 in September.

Is the Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 something you’d be interested in if the price is right?
