We’re only days away from a fresh new year and many people around the world are gearing up to celebrate the occasion on New Year’s Eve. Mobile apps are a fun way of getting into the spirit of the festivities and today we’ve rounded up some of the best Happy New Year photo frame and wallpaper apps for Android.

These apps are a good idea for setting as wallpapers on your smartphone or tablet, or for sending photos to your loved one at this seasonal time of year. Our first suggestion is Happy New Year Frames, which provides a photo montage maker to celebrate the countdown to 2015. Users of this app can decorate their existing photos with editing software and enter the photo booth to create some great photo art, or alternatively create a new image and apply a 2015 New Year frame to it. The app also enables users to rotate, scale, zoom in or zoom out, to make the image fit the frame. When you’ve saved your picture you can then share it via Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter and more.

Another app we like is New Year Live Wallpaper, and like the first app we’ve chosen this is highly rated by users on Google Play. This app captures the holiday spirit with wintry animated themes such as Christmas trees, snowflakes, and much more, and it’s easy to use. Simply tap the screen to bring up new high-resolution pictures, make the tree light up, and decorate your screen for New Year’s Eve.

Another of our selections is Happy New Year Frames 2015. This is a lovely way of sending your family and friends New Year Wishes, as you can select an image from your gallery or take a brand new photo and apply one of the New Year frames. There are more than 25 different frames that are really appealing, such as a New Year’s toast and New Year fireworks and balloons, and you can then save or share the images.

Our final choice is New Year Sky Live Wallpaper and this wallpaper shows a snowy winter scene with a New Year countdown and falling snow in the background. The countdown format includes the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds left in 2014 and you can set the color of your choice for it as well as the font.
