The Asus Zenfone 2 India launch is now set for the end of April, and we have further details ahead.

In February Asus confirmed that the Zenfone 2 would release in India at some point in Q2, so anywhere from April to June. Now Asus has narrowed that timeframe considerably as the company has announced that the phone will become available in India in the last week of April. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing unit, and a 3000 mAh battery. The phone measures 152.5mm x 77.2mm x 10.9mm and weighs 170g.

Finally there’s the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML, which itself comes in two options. The 2GB variant has a 1.8GHz quad-core processor while the 4GB variant has a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. It has a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD to 64GB. This dual SIM phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 3000 mAh battery. It measures 152.5mm x 77.2mm x 10.9mm and weighs 170g.

All of the above Zenfone 2 phones run the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and all have connectivity options that include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The ZE500CL has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, and the ZE550ML and ZE551ML have WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.

At the launch we expect to hear exactly which variant/s will be made available for India, although it would be good to hear more on this from Asus before then. We’ll be keeping readers informed about further developments so do check back with us from time to time.
