Powerful unannounced Samsung Tablet gets Benchmarked

#

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge may be Sammy’s bread and butter this year, but they are far from done when it comes to new releases. Case in point, an unannounced Samsung tablet has just been spotted that doesn’t belong to any lineup we know of and it has interesting specifications.

We just talked about a new device from OnePlus making its way through the Benchmark tests, and now an unannounced Samsung tablet is doing the same. The slate is dubbed the Samsung CHOPIN-LTE, and while there’s quite a bit we don’t know, the benchmark listings show a high-powered tablet.

The Samsung CHOPIN tablet is listed as running on an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 clocked at 2.24GHz, which is one of Intel’s new quad-core chips based on the Cherry Trail chip. Those were just announced earlier in March, so the slate could be one of the first products to sport one. In addition to the new SoC, the unannounced Samsung tablet will also have a whopping 4GB of RAM.

The CHOPIN moniker hasn’t turned up until now, so the unannounced Samsung tablet could be something new or a member of an existing product line. Several tablets have hit the rumor mill over the past few months, but this is the most powerful configuration we’ve seen from Samsung so far.

Do you think the CHOPIN-LTE tablet will be an iPad Air alternative this year?
