Elephone P8000 price in India shown on Flipkart

#

In May we gave readers some details of the upcoming Elephone P8000, a phone that looks to have plenty to offer for its expected price tag. At that time we thought it unlikely that this smartphone would release outside China. However, the Elephone P8000 price in India has just shown up on a Flipkart listing ahead of availability.

In our prior article on the Elephone P8000 we told how a release was expected in Q3 and that it had an expected price tag equivalent to around $209. That approximately equates to Rs. 13,300, although pricing can often vary according to regional markets. Now Flipkart has put up a product page for the phone on its website, although the phone is not yet actually on sale from the retailer.

While the Elephone P8000 price in India isn’t immediately apparent, if you head to the ‘recently viewed’ section on Flipkart the price then appears as Rs. 12,999. This sounds about right according to the previous unconfirmed pricing, although it’s possible that this could be changed. At the Flipkart page at the moment you can sign up to be notified when the phone comes into stock.

Specs of the handset include a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, Mali-T720 graphics, and 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution. It has 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Elephone P8000 runs the Android Lollipop operating system (upgradable to Android M at some point) and has a sizeable 4200 mAh battery. The dual SIM phone features 4G connectivity, a fingerprint scanner, and measures 155.2mm x 76.6mm x 9.2mm. Luckily there may not be too much longer to wait for availability as an Elephone India Facebook page says that the P8000 will launch by the close of this month.

If this Elephone P8000 price in India and launch date turns out to be accurate, do you think you might purchase this new smartphone? Do let us know with your comments.

Never again Elephone! Bought a new P8000, right out of the box didn’t recognize sim, after a simple OTA update it bricked, all by itself! I should have smashed it in UMI’s contest to win an Iron Pro instead of dealing with their non exhistant after sale service… wasted money!
