Sony E5706 appears online with Snapdragon 808

#

While we’ve gotten plenty of news and rumors from Samsung and Apple lately, it’s been fairly quiet on the Sony front. The Sony E5706 has changed that by making an appearance online, and it may debut alongside the Sony Lavender.

We first learned of the Sony Lavender in May when it reared its bezeless head. The Sony E5706 is thought to feature a similar design with razor-thin bezels, but will be different than the Lavender under the hood. The front panel won’t be the same either as the Sony E5706 will sport a 5.7-inch FHD panel compared to the 5.5-inch display found on the Sony Lavender.

The Sony E5706 will get its power from a speedy 64-bit Snapdragon 808, which will be backed by 3GB of RAM. The rear camera will take shots with a 16MP sensor, and the front-facing camera is listed at 8MP. Unfortunately, that’s all the Sony E5706 specs leak reveals so we don’t know the storage capacity or battery size at this time. It will run Android 5.1 and should be water-resistant like the rest of Sony’s lineup, but flagship features like a fingerprint scanner are up in the air.

What will the final moniker of the Sony E5706 turn out to be? We have no idea, but it could be the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra as many assume the Lavender will be the Xperia T4 Ultra. Both handsets are rumored to see an announcement in August, so we won’t have to wait long to hear some official details.
