The Intex Aqua Trend arrives in India for Rs. 9,444

#

Intex usually releases a handful of new devices each month, and they’ve kicked off August with the Intex Aqua Trend release. It’s one in a wave of 4G smartphones we’ve seen hit the country in recent weeks, and it’s priced at Rs. 9,444.

The Intex Aqua Trend is one of the rare 4G models from Intex, the last one being the Intex Aqua 4G+ which we covered back in June. The Intex Aqua Trend price is comparable to the previous handset, and so are the specs. Intex didn’t change much between the two models, but the Trend will have a larger battery and a slightly new version of the Android OS.

The specs sheet shows the Intex Aqua Trend as a 5-inch handset with a 720p display. Under the hood, you’ll find a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 backed by 2GB of RAM, and the storage capacity is listed at 16GB, but expandable through a microSD card slot. Other features to note include dual-SIM connectivity, a 13MP/5MP camera combo and 4G LTE. The Intex Aqua Trend measures 144.5mm x 72.5mm x 8.9mm with a weight of 152grams and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. As you’d expect, it will run Android 5.1 out of the box.

On paper, the Intex Aqua Trend is essentially the same handset as the Aqua 4G+, but with a bigger battery and Android 5.1 compared to 5.0. Needless to say, if you held off on the Aqua, the Trend is worth a look as the price is actually a bit cheaper at Rs. 9,444. If the Intex Aqua Trend seems like your cup of tea, you’ll be able to pick one up in Silver, Grey, Black or Champagne with a free flip cover.
