Yu Yureka Plus battery life testing, results compared

#

The Yu Yureka Plus launched in July as a slightly souped up version of the Yu Yureka. We’ve already shared a benchmark and gaming video for this smartphone, and if you’re a heavy user of your phone you should also take battery life into account. Today we’re looking at Yu Yureka Plus battery life results and how they compare with some other handsets.

Key specs of the Yu Yureka Plus include a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, Adreno 405 graphics, a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It has a removable 2500 mAh battery, but is that enough to fulfil your requirements for battery life? Fone Arena has conducted its usual battery testing on the Yu Yureka Plus to find that out.

The testing is split into four separate categories, Talk Time, 3G Browsing, WiFi Browsing, and Video Playback. For each test the results are shown on a table that compares the outcome for the Yureka Plus with some other smartphones. Just a few of the other devices are the Meizu M2 Note, Lenovo K3 Note, Xiaomi Mi 4i, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Dual, and Micromax Canvas Xpress 2.

Beginning with Talk Time the Yu Yureka Plus attained a time of 14 hours and 9 minutes, exactly the same as the original Yu Yureka and also the Coolpad Dazen X7 (see image directly below). That score put it near the bottom of the table, with only the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 lower on 12 hours and 30 minutes. By comparison the Meizu M2 Note and Lenovo A7000 were tied at the top of the table on 33 hours and 19 minutes.

For 3G Browsing the Yu Yureka Plus again scored low with a time of just 4 hours, the same time managed by the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Dual and ten minutes less than the original Yureka. The Lenovo K3 Note was lower still with a time of only 3 hours and 42 minutes. In a reversal of fortune the Canvas Xpress 2 was at the top of the table this time on 6 hours and 39 minutes.

Moving on to WiFi Browsing the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 came top of the charts again with a time of 8 hours and 19 minutes. It was followed by the Meizu M2 Note and Xolo Black both on 6 hours and 39 minutes. The Yu Yureka Plus fared badly here, at the bottom of the table on 4 hours and 32 minutes, once again beaten by the standard Yureka on 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Lastly we get to Video Playback and the Yu Yureka Plus fared a lot better in this category with a time of 10 hours. It was topped only by the Xiaomi Mi 4i and Coolpad Dazen X7 both tied on 11 hours and 7 minutes. Languishing at the bottom of the tablet this time (see image below) was the Xolo Black with 6 hours and 39 minutes.

Overall the Yu Yureka Plus achieved very average results as far as battery life is concerned. You can see the other tables for full results as well as Fone Arena’s One Charge rating for the Yu Yureka Plus at the source below. Are you a little disappointed at the results achieved by the Yu Yureka Plus in this battery testing?
