Lenovo Vibe P1, P1m releases and prices for battery beasts

#

The Lenovo Vibe P1 is a name we’ve been hearing for some time, and now the Vibe P1 and also the Lenovo Vibe P1m have been officially revealed. We have details ahead of the Lenovo Vibe P1 and P1m releases, as well as prices for these two battery beasts. Of course we also have specs information.

Both of these new Lenovo smartphones are competitively priced, and the ‘P’ in the name suitably stands for ‘power’ given the massive batteries. We’ll begin with the Lenovo Vibe P1 and it has a 5000 mAh battery offering up to 81 hours of battery life with the charger putting out 24W of power. It features a Rocket Charge function that in just 5 minutes can give almost 3 hours of talk time, and the Vibe P1 can also be used to charge other accessories over USB OTG. Long battery life is such a highlight of this phone that it also offers a OneKey Power Saver physical switch so that a low-power mode can be activated.

The Lenovo Vibe P1 (pictured immediately below) has a Snapdragon 615 processor, a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, and 2GB of RAM. The dual SIM phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper, and connectivity options that include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1.

It features a fingerprint reader within the Home key and has an aluminum body with Gorilla Glass 3. It’s 9.9mm thick and weighs 189g so is not slim or lightweight, but then it does have the benefit of that juice-packing battery. The Lenovo Vibe P1 will release in October priced from $279 in Gold, Graphite Grey, or Platinum colors (gold color only in PRC).

Lenovo Vibe P1 and P1M

Next in line is the Lenovo Vibe P1m (pictured below), a smaller handset with a lesser but still very sizeable 4000 mAh battery. This one also features USB OTG charging for other devices as well as the OneKey Power Saver, but does not include Rocket Charge. It’s powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor, has a 5-inch display with HD resolution, and 2GB of RAM.

It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop (the same as for the Vibe P1), and is a dual SIM handset with 4G LTE support. The handset has a polycarbonate build and is splashproof, and it’s lighter and slimmer than the Vibe P1 as it weighs 148g and is 9.3mm thick. The Lenovo Vibe P1m will release in September with a price tag from $159 and comes in Onyx Black or Pearl White.
