#

The OnePlus X was a hotly awaited device and has just started to release to various regions of the world. If you are a heavy user of your smartphone you might want to particularly consider this aspect of the handset before you buy. Therefore we’re looking at OnePlus X battery life results vs Galaxy S6, Moto X Style and more.

When the OnePlus X was officially unveiled we reported on the specs, regional prices, availability and more in our launch article, so do please check that out for fuller information. As far as the battery is concerned the OnePlus X has a 2525 mAh battery, so will that provide enough juice for your daily needs?

The OnePlus X battery has been put through its paces for performance in testing conducted by Fone Arena. The test categories were Talk Time, 3G Browsing, WiFi Browsing, and Video Playback. The results achieved for OnePlus X battery life were then entered on tables alongside several other handsets including the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Motorola Moto X Style. This gives a chance to see how the battery life performance compares.

In the Talk Time category the OnePlus X attained equal top spot alongside the Moto X Style and Moto X Play Dual SIM, all on 33 hours and 19 minutes (see image directly below). The Galaxy S6 was close to the bottom of the table on just 16 hours and 40 minutes while the Xiaomi Mi4 was last on 16 hours 39 minutes.

The Galaxy S6 achieved a time of 4 hours and 46 minutes while the Moto X Style languished at the bottom of the chart with only 3 hours and 34 minutes.

Next we come to WiFi Browsing, as shown in the image below. This time the OnePlus X managed second spot on 6 hours and 39 minutes, only topped by the Xiaomi Mi 4 on 9 hours and 5 minutes. The Galaxy S6 was further down the table again with 5 hours and 53 minutes while the Moto X Style seemed to like being at the bottom as it stayed there again on just 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Video Playback was the final category of battery life testing and this time the OnePlus X suffered a complete reversal of fortune. After managing pretty impressive results so far, this time the latest phone from OnePlus was in equal last spot on the table with 6 hours and 39 minutes alongside the Xiaomi Mi 4. The Moto X Play was a clear winner with a time of 12 hours and 30 minutes while the Galaxy S6, Xiaomi Mi 4i, and Meizu MX5 were all on 11 hours and 7 minutes. The Moto X Style achieved a time of 7 hours and 8 minutes.

Overall the OnePlus X battery life performance proved to be better than both the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. If you want to see the full tables, and a One Charge Rating for the phone, you can see more at the source below. You can also find out more about the battery test procedures used here.

Excellent results for the OnePlus X. Even though the video performance was relatively poor I don’t think mobile phones are generally the best for viewing videos, tablets and laptops are far better viewing options. Just bought the Oneplus X but it will be for day to day business, taking pics, webrowsing, whatsapp and facebook and the occasional games but nothing else. I can use an ipad for videos

Sure will do. An OTA has just been released by One Plus to rectify som of the early bugs noticed in the One Plus x so hopefully that will improve any shortcomings

That’s awful to see OPX, after getting updated to 2.1.2 yesterday shows a perceptible deteriorate in the battery life. Before that, it’s battery used to persist nearly 6-7 hours and after the update I could hardly manage to get 4-5 hours. It’s OS thing which makes the battery life worse.
