The majority of CyanogenMod users will know about the commercial version of the software, Cyanogen OS. The latter is used on a variety of smartphones including YU handsets, the ZUK Z1, OnePlus One, WileyFox and others. The good news today is that CyanogenMod users can now get an official Cyanogen Apps Package.

Up to now those using CyanogenMod have not had access to Cyanogen OS stock applications, but today sees big changes regarding this. A Cyanogen Apps Package (C-Apps) has just been announced by Cyanogen, meaning that devices running CyanogenMod can now be treated to 6 useful stock apps.

The new package will not be pre-installed with future CyanogenMod updates, but is on offer as an optional download. If you want the apps to work as they should, your device needs to be powered by the latest version of CM 12.1. The six apps in the C-Apps package are Audio FX, Theme Chooser & Themes Store, Dialer with Truecaller, Email Powered by Boxer, Gallery, and Cyanogen Account.

These will bring some real benefits to your device. For example Cyanogen Account brings access to the Find My Phone feature and will also enable users to remotely wipe or lock their device. Meanwhile Dialer with Truecaller offers the robust caller ID of Truecaller Integrated Dialer so that users can identify and block incoming spam. Email Powered by Boxer will conveniently sync all of your email accounts to one place, helping you to keep your emails more organized.
