The Xolo Black 1X recently launched in India and is an affordable smartphone with some very decent specs. Many of us increasingly look towards a new smartphone that offers a good battery performance, and so today we’re looking at the Xolo Black 1X battery life vs. Moto G 3rd gen, Lenovo K3 Note and more.

Readers can check out full specs of the Xolo Black 1X in our launch article about the phone, and it packs a non-removable 2400 mAh battery to power its octa-core processor and 5-inch Full HD display. The Moto G 3rd gen on the other hand has a 2470 mAh battery while the Lenovo K3 Note has a larger 3000 mAh battery.

It’s always a good idea to check out the battery life of a device before you buy, and Fone Arena has put the Xolo Black 1X battery through extensive testing in this respect. There are four main areas of testing, Talk Time, 3G Browsing, WiFi Browsing and Video Playback. The results attained by the Black 1X are then charted alongside the Moto G 3G, Lenovo K3 Note, and several other handsets.

The first area of testing is Talk Time and it’s not a good start for the Xolo Black 1X. It’s at the bottom of the table (see image directly below) with a time of just 12 hours and 30 minutes. The Moto G 3rd gen achieves joint second place with the Xiaomi Redmi 2, on a time of 25 hours and 2 minutes, more than twice the time of the Black 1X. The Lenovo K3 Note is not far behind on a time of 25 hours exactly. The Meizu M2 Note takes top position with an impressive time of 33 hours and 19 minutes.

When looking at 3G Browsing the Black 1X is in the lower half of the table with a time of 3 hours and 50 minutes. This time the Lenovo K3 Note is behind it on 3 hours and 42 minutes while in last place is the Yu Yuphoria on 3 hours and 2 minutes. The Moto G 3rd gen is in joint spot on 5 hours, alongside the Xiaomi Mi 4i. It’s the Coolpad Note 3 at the top of the tree though on 5 hours and 53 minutes.

Next we get to WiFi Browsing, and again the result of the Xolo Black 1X is unimpressive. It’s just one spot from the bottom of the table on a time of 5 hours with the Yu Yureka Plus behind it on 4 hours 32 minutes. The Moto G 3rd gen is third with 6 hours 40 minutes while the K3 Note is only just above the Black 1X on a time of 5 hours and 33 minutes. Again the Coolpad Note 3 is the winner, this time on 7 hours and 41 minutes (image below).

Finally we get to Video Playback, and we’d like to have seen a sudden comeback by the Xolo Black 1X. That failed to happen though as it’s near the bottom again with a time of 7 hours and 8 minutes. The Redmi Note 4G is languishing at the bottom of the table on 5 hours and 52 minutes. The Moto G 3rd gen is in joint third spot on exactly 10 hours while the K3 Note manages 8 hours and 13 minutes. You might be able to guess that the winner once again is the Coolpad Note 3. It attained a time of 12 hours and 30 minutes.

The Xolo Black 1X battery gave pretty mediocre performance in this bout of battery life testing, which may disappoint some potential buyers. It’s interesting that in all but the last category the original Xolo Black achieved a better result than the Xolo Black 1X.
