Coolpad Fengshang Max launch includes 4GB/128GB variant

#

We try to keep readers informed about all the latest devices from big-name smartphone manufacturers, but we also try to cover some of the lesser-known names. Coolpad is one such example, although it’s a major domestic brand in China and has also launched devices elsewhere including India. Now the Coolpad Fengshang Max has just launched, and it comes in a 4GB/128GB variant.

There’s no escaping the fact that as far as the design is concerned, the Coolpad Fengshang Max looks very similar to the HTC One A9, which in turn resembles an iPhone. The Fengshang Max has a unibody metal build, and it has the addition of a fingerprint sensor on the rear. It will be available in gold, grey, or pink color choices.

It’s powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, and has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 that features 2.5D curved glass. It comes in options of 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and 34GB, 64GB, or 128GB of internal storage, expandable with microSD card. Juice comes from a 2800 mAh battery. This is said to supply 17 hours of use or up to 310 hours of standby time, and the battery can be charged to 65% in only 30 minutes.

The Coolpad Fengshang Max is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flash, and phase detection autofocus, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper featuring gesture support. It’s a dual SIM handset with hybrid SIM and 4G LTE, and it runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS skinned with Coolpad’s CoolUI 8.0.

The price of the Coolpad Fengshang Max 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage version is CNY 2,499 (around $390, £260, or Rs. 26,000). The model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 3,299 (around $515, £345, or Rs. 34,500), while the 4GB/128GB variant is CNY 3,599 (around $560, £375, or Rs.37,500). While we don’t have confirmation of whether this phone will release outside China, it doesn’t look likely.

If the Coolpad Fengshang Max did launch for markets outside China, does it look like a device you might be interested in? Let us have your comments on this new Coolpad phone.
