Huawei P9 specs tipped to include 6GB of RAM

#

There’s a real buzz surrounding CES 2016 that kicks off later this week. Now it appears we may be hearing more about a previously rumored Huawei smartphone, and the Huawei P9 specs are tipped to include a mighty 6GB of RAM.

Many companies are holding pre-CES events ahead of the big show in Las Vegas that officially begins on Wednesday. One of these is Huawei with an event being held on Tuesday January 5th. While it was previously thought that the Huawei P9 would launch around March, news out of China now suggests it will be officially announced at the event tomorrow.

In December we covered leaks about the Huawei P9 specs that had emerged on Weibo, and rumored specifications included a Kirin 950 chipset, and a 5.2-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080 resolution). Additionally a 13-megapixel rear camera was claimed, with some kind of dual camera set-up, but little else was known.

Now the latest Huawei P9 specs rumor reiterates the idea of a dual rear camera arrangement and also claims that the phone will have 6GB of RAM. That might seem unlikely but stranger things have happened, so we’ll be very interested to see what unfolds from the event tomorrow. Another tipped inclusion for the Huawei P9 is a fingerprint sensor and again there’s mention of a Kirin 950 oct-core processor and Mali-T880 MP4 graphics.

It remains to be seen whether this latest rumor will pan out, but we hope to know more very soon. The invitation for the Huawei event in Las Vegas tomorrow makes it clear that there will be a product launch, so fingers crossed it will be the P9. Of course we’ll bring more news on this as we hear it.

There will be plenty of device news over the coming week from CES 2016, so do check back with us from time to time. Do you think this new Huawei P9 specs rumor suggesting 6GB of RAM could turn out to be accurate? Let us know with your comments.
