Cubot S600 confirmed with value for money price

#

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Cubot has a reputation for producing some very competitively priced smartphones, although it may not be a name that some are familiar with. Now the company has officially launched the Cubot S600, which has been confirmed with a value for money price for what it offers. Details of specifications and more are coming right up.

We first reported on the Cubot S600 back in November and specs suggested this could be a smartphone of interest. Early images gave a good look at the handset with its large fingerprint scanner on the reverse. Now the Cubot S600 price has been announced at only $130, equivalent to around £90, €120, or Rs. 8,700. The pricing could make this an appealing choice for many potential buyers who don’t want to spend to much money on a new smartphone.

For the money the Cubot S600 has a decent build with a metallic frame, and it’s equipped with a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735A 64-bit quad-core processor. It has a 5-inch IPS display with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 featuring 2.5D glass, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD to 32GB. The handset is juiced by a 2700 mAh battery and connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and microUSB 2.0.

There’s an interesting camera set-up, as the very affordably priced Cubot S600 packs a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture. Up front there’s an 8-megapixel camera with 4P lens and various beauty modes. This is a dual SIM phone running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. It will be offered in Black, Gold, and White color choices.

Do you like the look of the Cubot S600 smartphone? What do you think of the price for what it has to offer? Do let us know with your comments, as we’re always interested to hear from our readers.
