Oukitel C2 gets listed with 4.5-inch display and Android 5.1

#

We haven’t heard anything about a new smartphone from Oukitel since the end of last year, but a new device has just surfaced with the Oukitel C2. It’s a device geared towards the budget crowd, and it should be one of the cheapest Android smartphones around once it hits the streets.

The budget market brings in a lot of bucks, and there is no shortage of consumers looking to pick up their first real smartphone. Not everyone needs a flagship, and if you reside in the Far East (or import), there are far more options available than you’d normally find in your given region. The Oukitel C2 will soon join the budget crowd, and while we don’t know its price, it should come in well under $100.

The Oukitel C2 has made an appearance on the company’s official website where they’ve let a few details slip ahead of an official announcement. It’s going to be a small device, with a 4.5-inch panel, and the chip powering the show is listed as a 1.3GHz MT6580A. Unfortunately, we don’t know the RAM or internal storage, but it will have a 5MP rear snapper and run Android 5.1 out of the box.

There are far more questions than answers for the Oukitel C2 release, but it is shaping up to be a solid, if somewhat underwhelming entry into the budget range. It will also be available in four colors when it arrives including White, Black, Blue or Gold.
