Archos Diamond 2 Plus and Diamond 2 Note are introduced before MWC

#

Archos is one brand we haven’t touched on much leading up to MWC, but they have just announced not one, but two new devices bound for the big show. The Archos Diamond 2 Plus and the Archos Diamond 2 Note are the names of the new handsets, and both offer up better specifications than we expected.

The theme of MWC 2016 this year may be “Go big or go home” as we expect to see more flagship level devices unleashed than ever before. The Archos Diamond 2 Plus and the Archos Diamond 2 Note will be two of them, and while the company has put out some impressive handsets in the past, they have really upped the ante with these new devices.

The bigger handset of the two is the Archos Diamond 2 Note which sports a 6-inch QHD panel and a 2.5D display. Beneath that big slab of glass, you’ll find a 64-bit Helio X10, 3GB of RAM, and 32 GB of expandable storage. The cameras are quite nice as well with a 16MP rear sensor with an LED flash and an 8MP wide-angle front-facing camera. Hybrid Dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, and a 3,610mAh battery round things out for the Archos Diamond 2 Note.

The Archos Diamond 2 Plus may not be as big as its sibling, but it is more powerful thanks to an Helio P10, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable internal storage. It will also have the 2.5D curved glass, but on a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. The front-facing camera is listed as 8MP with an LED flash and the rear camera is more than sufficient at 20MP with a Dual-Tone LED flash.
Connectivity options include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, and a hybrid Dual-SIM setup. It will have a smaller 3,000mAh battery but will run Android 6.0 like its sibling.

As you can tell by the specs, the Archos Diamond 2 Plus and the Archos Diamond 2 Note are going to be contenders, and their price tags are more than affordable. The Archos Diamond 2 Plus will arrive in Black and White for $229 while the Archos Diamond 2 Note will set you back $269 and comes in Silver.

Are you interested in either of Archos’s new handsets?
