ZUK Z2 Pro with 6GB of RAM gets priced at launch

We knew the ZUK Z2 Pro smartphone was going to be unveiled today, and sure enough the device has now been officially introduced. The ZUK Z2 Pro with 6GB of RAM has been priced at the launch, and pricing for the 4GB version will follow. Pre-orders for the premium variant open tomorrow.

There have been various leaks about the ZUK Z2 Pro up to now. The newly confirmed specs largely match rumored details, although we had not heard of a model with a whopping 6GB LPDDR4 RAM on the way. The 6GB ZUK Z2 Pro has 128GB of internal storage and there’s also a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM model that has 64GB of internal storage.

The ZUK Z2 Pro 6GB version has been priced at the event in China at CNY 2,699, that’s around $416, £290, or Rs. 27,650. Pre-orders open on the ZUK website in China tomorrow, April 22. The price tag for the 4GB RAM version has not been given yet but we do know that orders for it will be available from May 10. The phone is offered in black and white color choices.

The new flagship from ZUK has specifications that include a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor and Adreno 530 graphics. There’s a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) Super AMOLED display featuring 2.5D curved glass, and it’s juiced by a 3100 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Camera-wise you’re looking at a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1.34μm pixel size, ISOCELL sensor, f/1.8 aperture, Hybrid PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash. The front-facing camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with 1.4μm pixel size, and f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity of the ZUK Z2 Pro is well covered as it supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB 3.1 Type-C. Features of the phone include a fingerprint sensor, UV sensor, and heart rate sensor, and it runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with ZUI 2.0. The handset has a metal frame and a 3D floating glass design.
