iBall Andi 5N Dude price and specifications announced for India

We’re used to seeing smartphones with fun names come from the East, and while iBall’s new handset may not have much under the hood, it is a winner in the nickname department. The iBall Andi 5N Dude is headed to India, and it will carry a price tag of Rs. 4,099 when it lands.

iBall isn’t a name most folks will know outside of India and a few other locales, but they have consistently released a steady trickle of smartphones over the years. We’ve covered plenty from their Andi lineup, and the iBall Andi 5N Dude looks to be one of the latest. With that in mind, let’s take a quick peek under the hood to see what makes this Dude tick…

The iBall Andi 5N Dude is a 5-inch device with a IPS panel sporting a resolution of 480 x 854. It will get its horsepower from a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and 512MB of RAM while the storage is listed at 4GB but expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card slot. On the backside of the iBall Andi 5N Dude, you’ll find a 5MP snapper with an LED flash while the front-facing camera is listed at 0.3MP.

In the connectivity department, the iBall Andi 5N Dude has most of the bells & whistles with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, A-GPS, and a micro-USB port. It’s a little sparse in the sensor department as well with a Proximity Sensor and G-Sensor for screen rotation. The Dual-SIM smartphone will sip its power from a 2,000mAh battery and is listed with the outdated Android 4.4 KitKat.

We’ll just cut to the chase with this one. The iBall Andi 5N Dude is priced at Rs. 4,099 on the company’s official website, which shakes out to around $61 bucks. While that’s cheap, there are better alternatives out there for the price and you can get 4G LTE if you’re willing to pony up a few more dollars. The iBall Andi 5N Dude price could come down a bit once it’s available through e-tailers, but there has been no release date given on the device at this time.
