There have been several new Intex Aqua smartphones recently and now another has been launched. The Intex Aqua Joy has a budget price of less than Rs. 3,000 and in fact the actual price is just Rs. 2,799. The details of the phone are already listed on the company’s website so it should be available to purchase very soon.

Just in the last few weeks we’ve seen phone arrivals such as the Intex Aqua Lions 3G, the Intex Aqua 4.5 Pro, and Intex Aqua G2. All of these are priced at less than Rs. 5,000 with the G2 being the cheapest of the bunch at only Rs. 1,990. Now the Intex Aqua Joy has joined the company’s portfolio at Rs. 2,799. Although the specs are nothing to write home about, it might suit those who want an affordable smartphone.

Intex Aqua Joy specifications consist of a 1.2GHz Spreadtrum SC7731C quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB with microSD card). It’s equipped with a 4-inch display with WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 resulting in 233 ppi. The phone has a rather lowly 0.3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, as well as another 0.3-megapixel unit at the front.

Further Aqua Joy specs include a 1450 mAh battery that should offer up to 160 hours on standby or up to 5 hours or talk time. It’s a dual SIM handset (GSM+GSM) with 3G support only on one SIM card slot. Further connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, A-GPS, and microUSB. The handset measures 125mm x 63.9mm x 10.1mm and it weighs in at 110g. It will be offered in black and white color choices.

This new smartphone runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, and it has preloaded apps that include Hike, Matrabhasha, Newshunt, Opera Mini, and 360 security. Give us your first thoughts on the new Intex Aqua Joy smartphone? Would you consider buying this device?
