Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date may bring a Lite variant

#

Unless Sammy switches things up this year, we have a while to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date. That isn’t going to stop the rumor mill from churning though, and today we’ve gotten word that there could be a variant of Samsung’s popular phablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date will bring one of the company’s last big smartphones of the year to market, and we mean that in more ways than one. The Note series has always been larger than most handsets, and it has always been very powerful considering it arrives later in the year, which occasionally means updated components. We already have a good idea of what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date this year, but it could bring a sibling along for the ride.

A new leak suggests we will see a Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Lite this year, which would be a dumbed down version of the regular model. The rumor says it will still have the speedy Snapdragon 820 under the hood, but with 4GB of RAM and a 1,920 x 1,080 panel. If true, it would be getting downgraded from the expected 6GB of RAM and QHD panel that is thought to arrive on the flagship model.

For the moment, you will want to take news of a Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Lite with a dose of salt… but make it a small one. We’ve seen a number or rumors suggest two version of the handset although this is the first time we’ve heard there could be a “Lite” version of the Note 6. Needless to say, it will be interested to see what the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date will bring as plenty of folks were less than thrilled with last year’s model.

What would you like to see from the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 this year?
