Chinese manufacturer Coolpad released its Max smartphone late last year in China, and many readers in India may have been wondering when it would reach them. We have promising news today as the Coolpad Max India launch is teased for May 20th, so it shouldn’t be too much longer until you get your hands on the device.

There’s a lot of attention on the Coolpad Note 3 Plus in India at the moment, which will be available in just a few more days. It’s good to hear that there will also be further choice soon, as Coolpad says, “As we brought the history changing Dual SIM Dual Standby 12 years ago, this time again we prepared something unique for you!”

Coolpad has also teased a new launch on its India Facebook page. While the teaser doesn’t specifically mention the Coolpad Max, there’s little doubt that this is what’s on the way. The text accompanying the company’s Facebook post reads, “The wait is finally over. Are you ready for the big news? #DualInOne, our flagship smartphone is on its way for a grand launch on Friday 20th May, 2016. Excited? Stay tuned here for all the details.”

There have been different variants of the Coolpad Max and it’s not yet clear which will model will release in India. One variant has a Snapdragon 615 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16 and 32GB options for internal storage. The other is equipped with a Snapdragon 617 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage (both expandable via microSD).

Further Coolpad Max specs include a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution. It has a 13-megapixel main camera at the rear with PDAF and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing unit. It supports 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS, and it’s a dual SIM device. The phone has a 2800 mAh battery featuring fast charging and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the Cool UI. The handset measures 152mm x 75.7mm x 6.9mm and weighs 175g.
