We knew it was coming, and just as promised the Lenovo ZUK Z1 running the Cyanogen OS has launched in India today. The smartphone will be available exclusively through Amazon.in, and coming right up there’s news of the Lenovo ZUK Z1 flash sale date in India as well as the pricing and specifications.

All the details for the Lenovo ZUK Z1 aka Lenovo Z1 in India have now been confirmed. Registrations for the first flash sale on Amazon start today at 1pm with the sale taking place from 2pm on May 19. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 price is Rs. 13,499 and it will be offered in a dark grey colour.

The phone is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics, and it has a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. There’s 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (non-expandable), and a non-removable 4100 mAh battery featuring fast charging. The dual SIM handset has connectivity that includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB 3.0 Type-C.

The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 Exmor RS sensor, f/2.2 aperture, OIS, and LED flash. Meanwhile at the front there’s an 8-megapixel shooter with OmniVision OV8865 sensor. The phone features a fingerprint sensor, weighs 175g, and measures 155.7mm x 77.3mm x 8.9mm.

One of the draws for many buyers will be the fact that it runs the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1. This will be upgradable to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based Cyanogen OS 13. Lenovo India Director of Smartphones, Sudhin Mathur, said of the launch,

The biggest demand of a customer is to get maximum experience in an affordable smartphone and the Lenovo ZUK Z1 is our attempt to offer a complete package of powerpack performance and user friendly experience in one device at a customer friendly price point.”
