New Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 gets official specs and price

There have been leaks and rumors about an upcoming tablet in Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A (2016) series for a few months now, the latest being some leaked images of the device. Now the tablet is confirmed and we have details of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 official specs and price coming right up.

Some readers may recall that the tablet was briefly listed on Samsung’s website back in March before the entry was pulled. Now the device has been announced and specifications of this new member in the Galaxy Tab A series include a 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor, and a 10.1-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1200. It has 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD card to 200GB.

There’s an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper with f/2.2 aperture. Further Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 specs include a 7300 mAh battery, and connectivity that includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+ (optional), WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS/GLONASS. The tablet is running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It measures 155.3mm x 254.2mm x 8.2mm and weighs in at 525g.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) tablet will release next month in Europe, but there are no details yet on availability elsewhere. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 price starts at €289 (around $329, £228). That’s for the Wi-Fi only option and if you want the LTE variant the price is €349 (around $398, £275).
