Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 announced with Tap Sensor and 8MP selfie snapper

#

We lost count of how many Canvas smartphones Micromax has in their arsenal a long time ago. That said, you can now add another to that expanding list with the Micromax Canvas Selfie 4, which has just been announced for consumers that reside in India.

While the whole “selfie” craze has calmed down somewhat, people still appreciate a phone with a solid front-facing sensor. There was a time when 2MP was considering good, but now most mid-rangers and above come with 5MP selfie snappers. The Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 may be a little weak under the hood, but it will deliver in the selfie department.

The Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 is a low-end smartphone due to the innards which include a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. The display is solid at 5-inches with a resolution of 1,280 x 720, and the same can be said of the camera combo.

The Canvas Selfie 4 has an 8MP sensor on each side although the rear camera sports an LED flash. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, and Dual SIM connectivity. The Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 will draw its power from a 2,500mAh battery and is listed with Android 6.0 straight out of the box. It will also have something called a “Tap Sensor” on its backside which allows you to quick snap a photo or take a call.

While the Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 isn’t going to be for everyone, the fact that it has Android 6.0 and two solid cameras could make it an option for some. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 price quite yet although we expect to know more soon as it will be available later this week.

Would you be interested in the Micromax Canvas Selfie 4 if the price is right or do you prefer smartphones with a bit more pop?
