Honor 8 TENAA hits with 4GB of RAM and Dual Cameras

#

Last week, we got wind of the unannounced Huawei Honor 8 specifications. Well, today things have become a bit more official as the handset has been spotted at TENAA as it underwent certification.

TENAA is a hotbed of smartphone activity, and one of our favorite places to visit on a slow day. If you’re in the mood to do a bit of digging, you can find all types of treasures like the listing for the Huawei Honor 8, which rolled through certification around the first of the month. As is usually the case, the handset left a trail of photos and its wake and we’re here to break down the Honor 8 specs and design.

According to TENAA, the Honor 8 will be a slim handset with a 7.45mm waistline and a weight of 153grams. The chip powering the show was believed to be the Kirin 950 with a clock speed of 2.3GHz… which is the speed mentioned in the listing. We also see 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which means this should be the base model of the handset if previous rumors prove true.

While the TENAA listings don’t tell us everything, we do know the handset will have a 5.2-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. All the usual connectivity options are listed as well including 4G LTE and a quad-band setup. The smartphone will have Dual SIM slots, is powered by a 2,900mAh battery, and was certified running Android 6.0. While not mentioned, you can clearly see Dual Sensors on the backside and a fingerprint scanner.

At this time, there’s been no official word on the Honor 8 release date, but we expect to learn more in the very near future. The handset is tipped for a release in July, so we’ll keep our ears to the ground for any incoming news.
